Jonathan
Kivley, owner,
has been in gymnastics since the age of 8. First labeled by Vladimir
Chertkov, a former Russian National Team coach and long time coaching
mentor, as "having too many energies", Jonathan learned to focus
his energy on gymnastics and overcame significant injuries to qualify twice
for Junior Olympics Nationals. He has been a coach under Vladimir
since 2002 and the head boys coach since 2005. He has worked under
former Olympians John Macready and John Roethlisberger at their "Flipfest"
summer camp, been coached by US Olympic coaches Kevin Mazeika and
Vitalie Marinitch and worked out with former Olympians Sean Townsend and Kip
Simons. Jonathan continues to work out as an elite gymnast with
aspirations for the 2012 Olympics. His presence in the gym is a huge
inspiration to all younger gymnasts. Jonathan is USAG certified for
both men's and women's gymnastics.
Lowell
Kivley,
owner, is a former NCAA Nationals qualifier in 1 and 3 meter springboard
diving. While in high school, Lowell earned nine varsity letters out
of the possible twelve seasons. He graduated from Wheaton College,
holds a Master's Degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University, and
has completed all coursework and internships for a Ph.D. in Educational
Psychology at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He is a Licensed
Clinical Professional Counselor with a major interest in Sports Psychology.
Lowell is USAG certified for both men's and women's gymnastics.
Nadine
Konieczny is
a former cheerleader who began her gymnastics coaching career under Vladimir
Chertkov in 2005. Her particular strengths are with younger children
and newer gymnasts. The homeschooling mother of two, Nadine’s
daughter is currently a Level 8 gymnast with a promising future.
Nadine also works in her church with special needs children. She is
Safety Certified through the USAG and will soon become a Professional Member
in General Gymnastics. Nadine earned a BA in Sociology from
Northeastern Illinois University.
Kelly
Skepnek has
over 18 years experience as a professional dancer and choreographer.
First hired by Vladimir Chertkov to choreograph routines for optional
gymnasts in 2004, she soon made the transition to a full gymnastics coach
under his tutelage. Kelly is now a USAG Professional Member in
Women’s Gymnastics and her daughter has just recently qualified for
advancement to Level 8. Kelly coaches our levels 3-5 girls and works
with the choreography of our optional gymnasts.
Kristi
Woodin
started gymnastics at the age of 3 and USAG competition at the age of 7.
She placed eighth in all-around for Region 5 Level 9 and went on to compete
for Northern Illinois University on a full-ride gymnastics scholarship.
She has coached other gymnasts since entering high school.
